One Eight Distilling Brings District-Made Spirits to D.C.

94.7 Fresh FM

For the first time since the Prohibition, vodka and whiskey are being crafted in the District.

One Eight Distilling is opening this Saturday and offering handmade D.C. spirits to the area.

Co-owners Sandy (a former lawyer) and Alex (a former bio engineer) tasted a lot of vodka and whiskey while making their Russian filtered spirits and are positive it will be some of the best you taste in the city.

Tommy McFLY was the first guy to break down the walls of the distillery and taste, bottle and pack the locally made liquors.

One Eight Distilling produces District Made Vodka, Ivy City Gin and Rock Creek Whiskey.

Preview the libations on Thursday, Jan. 8 from 7 to 10 p.m. during a free event at the Distillery. There will be after-hour tours, food from Dirty South Deli and a cash bar to taste the vodka and whiskey cocktails.
