A new Woodford Reserve labelwasapproved in April and it looks like we have the answer to what the Master’s Collection release for 2015 will be. While we aren’t sure what exactly the 1838 Style White Corn release means, my best guess is that it will be A) some kind of bourbon whiskey and B) have white corn in it. Hilarious, I know. Maybe it will be a 100% corn bourbon asa full corn expression has not yet been released by Chris Morris. The typical WR bourbon mash bill is 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley.
1838 refers to the year the distillery was built outside of Versailles, KY by Elijah Pepper as the Old Oscar Pepper distillery. The year has been used once before in the the Master’s Collection in 2008 when Sweet Mash 1838 was released, a bourbon made with sweet mash as opposed to the…
