I have been known to have ice with my whiskey, but never with my whisky. That is my personal preference. On occasion I have ordered a neat scotch and had it delivered with ice. I immediately educate the waitstaff on the definition of neat and am served a second glass. Every time this happens I am told to keep the first glass, which I immediately spoon the ice out of and drink. Its not how I would ever want to drink scotch.
It’s time to come out of the closet. It’s time to get this off of my chest. It may shock some of you to hear what I have to say. It may even drive you away to other sources for your whisky reading pleasure and/or advice. I hope not, but hey, I need to be authentic, and above all, trustworthy.

There, I said it. That’s right. A whisky snob just told you that it is okay to put ice in your whisky. Phew. It feels good to get that out.
